MARU SOFT (hereinafter referred to as "the Operator") respects the privacy of users of the mobile application "PhotoLimit" (hereinafter referred to as "this App") and is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our policies regarding the collection, use, and sharing of information in this App.

2. Information We Collect

This App may collect the following information:

Information You Provide

  • Product names
  • Expiration dates / Best-before dates
  • Category information (Refrigerated / Frozen / Room temperature / Other)
  • Product images
  • Notification settings (notification time, etc.)

Automatically Collected Information

  • App usage data (for advertising purposes)
  • Device information (for ad delivery optimization)
  • Push notification token (when using notification features)

Information Processed by AI Features

  • Images uploaded by users (product images, etc.)
  • Text information extracted from images

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Providing App features (expiration management, inventory management)
  • Automatic product information input through AI image analysis
  • Delivering expiration alert notifications
  • Displaying and optimizing advertisements
  • Managing subscriptions (paid plans)
  • Improving this App and developing new features

4. Sharing with Third Parties

The Operator will not provide your personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

  • When we have your consent
  • When required by law
  • When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person
  • When providing advertising identifiers, etc. to Google AdMob for advertising purposes
  • When sending image data to Firebase AI Logic (Google Cloud) for AI image analysis
  • When providing purchase information to RevenueCat (payment platform) for in-app purchase processing

Data Sharing for AI Image Analysis

When using the AI image analysis feature, the App clearly discloses the following information and obtains your explicit consent before sending any data:

  • Data sent: Product photo
  • Recipient: Google LLC (Firebase AI Logic)
  • Purpose: Auto-fill product name and expiry date

If you do not consent, no image data will be sent to external services. You can change this setting at any time from the Settings screen in the App.

Google LLC maintains industry-standard data protection measures and provides appropriate protection for transmitted data under the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Image data is deleted from servers after analysis and is not retained.

5. Advertising

This App uses Google AdMob (Google LLC) for advertising.

Information Collected for Advertising

  • Advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID)
  • Device information
  • IP address
  • App usage data

On iOS, we may request permission for tracking under App Tracking Transparency (ATT). Even if you do not grant permission, non-personalized ads will still be displayed.

6. Data Storage and Security

Product information and images entered in this App are primarily stored in a local database (SQLite) on your device.

  • Data entered in this App is stored on your device
  • Your personal data is not transmitted to or stored on the Operator's servers
  • Data may be lost due to device loss, malfunction, or app deletion
  • Images are temporarily sent to Google Cloud only during AI image analysis (not retained after analysis)

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your information:

  • Right of Access: You can view the data you entered in this App at any time within the app
  • Right to Deletion: You can delete all data on your device by uninstalling the app
  • Advertising Opt-out: You can limit ad tracking through your device settings
  • Disable Notifications: You can disable notifications through the app settings or device settings

8. Children's Privacy

This App is not intended for children under the age of 13. The Operator does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that personal information has been provided by a child under 13, we will promptly delete such information.

9. In-App Purchases

This App offers in-app purchases (subscriptions) to access premium features.

Payment Processing

  • Payments are processed through RevenueCat (payment platform) via Apple App Store or Google Play's in-app purchase system
  • The Operator does not directly collect or store payment information such as credit card details
  • Purchase information (plan type, expiration date) is stored on your device and with RevenueCat

  • Increased AI image analysis limit (Free: 10/day → Premium: 50/day)
  • Ad-free experience

10. Changes to This Policy

The Operator may change this Privacy Policy as necessary. If there are significant changes, we will notify you through this App. If you continue to use this App after the changes, you will be deemed to have agreed to the revised Privacy Policy.
